We strive to make broadband internet a reality for everyone
How the Brain was Born
Our saga began back in 2021 with a dream: to revolutionize how the world connects. Smart Fiber Networks was formed initially by Steve Stukas and Shawn Ronich, fueled by a knack for thinking outside the box and desire to un-complicate how internet networks are built. They moved to bring Samantha Edeen on board to keep this crazy train on the rails and the Brain Trust was officially formed!
From day one, we’ve been laser-focused on empowering communities, sparking change, and simplifying how the world connects to the internet. We want to create more choice in the market for the under served and under supported by working directly with local communities to meet their broadband needs through creative and effective solutions.
Our Mission and Vision
At Smart Fiber Networks, we’re not just in the business of bytes and bandwidth. We’re on a mission to bridge the digital divide, connecting communities far and wide through the magic of broadband.
It’s not just about wires and signals; it’s about bringing people together, empowering voices, and building a brighter, more connected future for all.
Bay Area Local
Formerly VallejoNET, is a public-private partnership between the City of Vallejo and our team to upgrade the city’s fiber infrastructure into a community benefit network for Vallejo residents. We focus on providing quality services in under-served neighborhoods at prices that neighbors can afford.
At Atherton Fiber, our team is actively involved in ongoing construction, network expansion, and project management for all construction operations for the Atherton Fiber network.
A public-private partnership in San Leandro, CA, was established to build a fiber-optic loop, which has been instrumental in attracting a new generation of companies to San Leandro. That partnership now provides the fastest broadband speeds in the nation. Our team members support their business development and technical operations whenever necessary.
Engineering and design services for several FTTH projects throughout the West coast, including Caramel One, the Laguna Tribe, the community of Seabrook, Washington, the HOA of Monterey Dunes Colony, and community of Palomares Rd. to name a few.
We have created and responded to many RFP, RFI, and CPUC grant packages for projects throughout the West coast, being awarded several of the projects and grants.
